Have I linked this to you already? I think you'd enjoy it. It's freaking hilarious. (Though if you are interested then you might want to follow the Webtoons link in the description of the latest episode to keep up with it since the latest episode's been up on that site for like a week and there's a few minor extras there too.)

Hee hee...well, I can see why Malori likes her Image! I mean, I imagine this is probably how it'd go if I were to meet any of my dark queens.

(Also, is it just me, or are Malori and I quite a bit alike? And is that why you suggested it to me?)

That could be what it was but something I wasn't able to place made me think you'd like it.

Sorry about dropping off the face of the earth for a while. Besides moving this month and getting new furniture, groceries, getting anything else we were missing, putting stuff together, etc, we also had a shitload of appointments this month. I've been around the internet, but haven't had much energy for social stuff. Now that we're out of that, I can finally relax a bit.

We've unpacked the main stuff, now all three of us are going through knick knacks and stuff, organizing them, seeing what we want out and what to store.

My dad's been contacting us off and on, which is been really fucking annoying, as it's about wanting to see my mom's dog and seeing the house, both of which we do not want. I've had to tell him TWICE that we don't want him over, and this most recent time he hadn't responded yet. It's been a few days. Blissful silence.

It has been amazing living without my dad. The house is so relaxed, we're all content, the cats are SO happy to have their own space. Out landlord (technically the manager, he lives here, it's his wife's aunt(?) in Calgary who owns the place but he takes care of everything) is awesome, he's so friendly and nice, and great about getting stuff done.

All in all, I feel good.

Well moving does take a rather ridiculous amount of energy so it's completely understandable, lol.

Letting him over sounds like it'd be a bad idea. A lot of the time in such a situation the person in question will use it as an excuse to get a foot in the door or will constantly show up and cause issues. Neither of which are issues you guys should need to deal with.

Quite right. Don't let this guilt you, and don't let him in. That'd be a bad idea.

It does. But going through old stuff has been great, seeing what I have that I can display now that I actually HAVE an area to display stuff in.
And then being able to sort through stuff, store it, or throw it out? Feels good.

Thanks for worrying about me! I already know it's a ploy to try to get over and cause trouble. Everyone here refuses to let him over, he doesn't know our new address, and if he did manage to find it (I highly doubt it), we could tell him to leave or call the cops.

Once the divorce goes through, we want NOTHING to do with him.

So much stuff to do around the house. It almost feels like I'm not making a dent in it.
Then I look around at the kitchen and the storage room and it's like... I have made a huge dent in it.
At least I know it'll all be done eventually and I won't be having to organize the house. Or deal with storage items from five years ago.

Hey guys, guys! And girls! And birds!

Remember when I said I was so glad to not hate Horikawa? Cause she pointed out when Avernum 3: Ruined World would be released? Well, back then, it was still a ways off, but now, it's out! Almarian wine for everyone! And I'm gonna drink until I'm drunken and half-blind Image! And then I'm gonna play the game and die a lot because I'm too euphorically drunk to not play like a moron Image!

...Sorry, this is just a happy day for me  . I just wish you-know-who didn't quit the Internet after you-know-what :tsad: ...but, oh well, better someone else, than me Image!

Looking at getting a new doctor. Mine just... doesn't seem to really listen to me any more. And any time I come in with another (or a reoccurring) problem, she seems frustrated and kind of annoyed. I've had her since I was a kid, and she did have a break from me for a few years when I moved away, but I ended up coming back and went to her again, just to get this over time.
The new doctor I spoke to a couple days ago seemed surprised when I told her of a couple of my problems that she didn't send me to a specialist for, instead just put me on some meds and didn't look into it further.
Either way, this new lady looks promising. She's quite nice and seems to listen.

Hopefully going to build myself a better desk in a couple days using leftover chipwood from some furniture we don't use/got new stuff for. I'd just buy one or buy proper wood, but it's expensive and I can't afford to do that atm.
I built a temporary set up onto the laptop cart I have now, but the glue I used refuses to latch onto both the metal and the wood.

And yes, I have two monitors now. I jacked my mom's old one as her pc is hooked up to her big tv.

I wonder what your old doctor's issue was. Hopefully this new one works out better for you.

More monitors is always good. Well other than the fact that it becomes easier and easier to lose your cursor, lol. I lose my cursor freaking constantly.

Stop fighting evil!! Or at least do it when you're awake.

I don't know, and it was starting to get frustrating for me. I hope so as well.

Oh god, I agree. I love having the extra work space. I usually use one monitor for work, and the other one for a video playing. I can actually watch the video at a good size, AND have enough space for other windows on my main one!
I changed my cursor cause I don't care for the standard Windows ones. I downloaded one from dA and have been using it since. It's pretty noticeable, so I don't usually lose it. I still have the ctrl key for the mouse ping, just in case.

I have my new desk planned out now! I ripped apart the old microwave stand we had (replaced with a newer one my aunt bought for us, she insisted on it), so now I have all the wood I need to build what should work pretty good to keep my monitors and tower on one thing. Whoever put it together in my family glued it, so I had to take a knife and a hammer to some parts to separate it. That was not fun.
Still need to get some more parts for it (more screws, L-brackets, some other support things, wheels), but I can't until my roomie either sends me money or figures out what his pin to his card. I'm flat broke until my check comes.
Ah well. Guess I'll do some laundry for the time being.

I ended up using cursor trails except the default Windows cursor trails are actually garbage so I ended up getting Stardock's CursorFX which has better trail options and found a neat cursor and I've just stuck with that ever since.

(Difficult to get a good shot of the trail, it starts at 50% opacity and is fairly long.)

If they don't use it much? I don't know the PIN to my debit card (but I think I have it written down somewhere, hopefully), since the last time I used it was when I activated the card.

Considering how often I have to fight insomnia that seems very likely, lol.

Normally people use a number they won't have trouble remembering though. (And usually ones they shouldn't actually use that others won't have much trouble figuring out either.) Especially for a card I wouldn't be using often I'd be going out of my way to pick an easier to remember number specifically so I can't forget it. For one I'd be using often though, I'd go for a more random choice since it'd be easy to remember it after enough time.

Fair enough. I find the cursor trails to be annoying, but the less opacity ones seem not bad. I still prefer them without.
I actually found a sakura-themed set. I'm a sucker for cherry blossoms, what can I say. ;; I'm currently using it, and despite the fact it's a bit small (and the grey seems not very noticeable), it's fairly visible.

Cause my roommate has the memroy of a potato and didn't use his card very much. He usually sent his money to me to take care of.

He's been bothering me lately. You should do something about him.

Basically. I'd write it down somewhere, or make sure it's something I'd know it would be.

This is my roommate we're talking about. He doesn't think about these things.
I usually have a main 4 digit number that I default to for a while, then I change it. Helps keep things not confusing.

I actually used to hate trails too. Lower opacity definitely helps though and it was too useful to have the trails in order to find my cursor. (Though I still do on occasion lose it simply because I have so much screen real estate, lol.)

And I like the last two quite a bit. Sakura one looks fine too, just not my thing personally.

I'll beat him into a coma. I'm sure that'll help anyone suffering insomnia.

Typically people at least put a modicum of thought into their actions though. Does he just pick a number completely randomly or something?

Darn it, why doesn't Mac OS have customizable mouse cursors? :(

(Also I guess the "Merry whatever winter holiday you happen to celebrate!" banner is technically appropriate again today.)

Happy Valentine's Day! Time to perv out Image!

Oh yeah, one other thing: I'm still not so sure about how I'm feeling. Hence why I'm going to be sexual trouble. My sanity depends on it Image!

I finally, FINALLY got my new desk done last night.
And even after being super tired getting it done, I still couldn't sleep. >___>

Bonus: cord "management" (aka using rubber bands to keep cords together and it still looks like a mess)

Alice wrote:I actually used to hate trails too. Lower opacity definitely helps though and it was too useful to have the trails in order to find my cursor. (Though I still do on occasion lose it simply because I have so much screen real estate, lol.)

Understandable.

And I like the last two quite a bit. Sakura one looks fine too, just not my thing personally.

Tbh I was worried the sakura one was going to be a bit small, but it turns out it's pretty okay! I've been using it since I changed it.

I'll beat him into a coma. I'm sure that'll help anyone suffering insomnia.

You didn't beat him hard enough yesterday, apparently.
I couldn't sleep.

Typically people at least put a modicum of thought into their actions though. Does he just pick a number completely randomly or something?

He usually picks something he remembers, so I have no idea this time around.
Sometimes my roomie is one big ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ because I don't understand him and his choices

Lame! I love having a custom mouse cursor.

So, my dad left on a trip, leaving me in charge of the house for the next week or so. While I'm not exactly a "hard drinking party girl", not really, I'm gonna take this opportunity to do something a bit wild: walk around in my favorite "outfit". Namely, completely naked except for my favorite pair of shoes (5-inch high heeled cybergoth boots) Image!

Maybe one day I'll graduate to "wearing my birthday-suit-and-high-heels combo DRUNK" Image :pwink: .

EDIT: Okay, so I lied about stripping :pwink: . But I wasn't kidding about the boots! So wonderful, feeling them on my feet Image! Only problem is that they're a bit of a thing to put on, which is why I don't wear them that often :tsad: . But even that comes with a positive: namely, that they're a thing to take off Image! I told you before, I'm a sadomasochist, so that's part of the reason why I love heels. So, naturally, it excites me even more to think about how much I need to do just to remove them :pwink: .

Okay, enough of that, me. I don't want to overload you guys with my perverted-fangirl-thing after all, ohohohohoho Image!

Glitch wrote:FEEL BETTER. -showers you in lewds, chocolate, and love-

To be somewhat more serious, thank you. I am starting to feel better :tsmiles: .

Also, where do you get purple duct tape? That's awesome and prettyful and stuff Image!

I added a bit more support to my desk's base. It was dipping because my tower is heavy, since it's a gaming pc. Added a really thick mending plate to the bottom (to the thinner two already there), and two extra wheels. It's really helping to keep it from bowing under the weight and to move it a bit easier.

This will also be the second attempt within two weeks to reset my stupid-ass sleep schedule. My depression's acting up, making it hard to fall asleep and get up in the mornings, and my grandpa's funeral in the city 2 1/2 hours away this week, so I don't want to me killer tired for it.
Yeah, my grandpa passed away Tuesday. I'm glad he did, as he suffered from Alzheimer's, and he was completely gone mentally. He also had a couple of strokes beforehand, too, which helped nothing. The first one he had, he was too stubborn to go to the hospital for it.
Anyway.
His funeral's Wednesday, and my mom and I are going up for it. Unfortunately, my dad will be there, as it was his father, but I'm putting aside what happened between us for my grandpa. I wasn't really close to him, but I would like to go, and so would my mom.
I've also been designated pall bearer, which I'm quite honoured to do (was originally honourary, but a couple couldn't make it).
If my dad tries any funny shit though, I'm not having any of it. He said he wants to talk to us after the funeral, but if it's anything about that, he can fucking forget it.

It's always nice to have the house to yourself. I miss that sometimes. :P

Good! No one should feel like shit.

Bought it at Canadian Tire, the one hardware store in Canada. It is really pretty! I wanted something to keep the raw edges of the chipboard from scratching me or someone/something else. And I just did all the edges, and the top of the desk since that was falling apart...

Sorry about your loss, my friend. But yeah, I do know the pain of family members dying. I mean, my two remaining grandparents died on the same day a couple years ago. And, before that, as I believe I mentioned before, my mom died in a car crash, leaving me the bitterly broken sex-addict hikikomori I am today :tsad: (almost like a certain Persona 5 character...why do you think I like her?)

Yeah, I'll see if I can. I mean, I want to Image, I totally should, but I don't know if I actually have a camera or not :tsad: .

Hmm...maybe my tablet can? Don't know how well that'd work, though.

EDIT: Alright, my tablet could do that. Anyway, it's probably a bit low-res (tablets make shitty cameras...cause that's not the main thing they're for), and the shoes themselves are a bit messy (sorry about that; I'm just a bit...neglectful...), but I got it:

Oof, that sucks. Honestly sounds like it was for the better though. My great grandmother had Alzheimer's and it got REALLY bad in the last few years before she died. Sucks that people have to suffer their mental facilities checking out on them like that.

Yeah, you're right about the heels; takes a bit of practice to get used to them. I think it makes it more fun, though Image!

If I got to that point, I wouldn't want to be alive at that point. I wish they'd let you humanely kill yourself via assisted suicide (probably have signed something previously when you were still okay). Yeah, I honestly support euthanasia in this situation, too. I don't understand why it's as controversial as it is (okay, I kinda do...but I don't agree with the premises that lead to the conclusion "We shouldn't allow assisted suicide"). The only issue I can think of is if the person themself doesn't get to make that decision (like might be the case with advanced Alzheimer's). But, even then, that can be solved with living wills specifying whether the person would want to do this. Or just basic communication.

i talked with my dad a bit about euthanasia where that was a big discussion in my country, he told me that it's really problematic since how can we decide if one person is able to make that decision, or who can do that decision for him. Also should you be able to force a doctor to do that. either way, you could argue that it goes against the Hyppocratic oath. He also feared that i could be abused if it isn't well regulated. But his main point at that time was, that the legislation would force doctors to do euthanasia if asked. It's kinda long ago where i talked with him about it, so if i remember something wrong, sry.
