New LP Suggestions?

The fabled art of 'let's play' is nigh tangible here. Got an LP you're just itching to share? Or maybe you just want to make snarky comments about someone's bad playing? That kind of thing goes here!

Now that Iso has said he's never played the classic Sonic games, I vote that he LP all of them. I know the latest video was just an intermission thing while he waits to get a new controller, but I still think he should LP them for real after Gah! 2 is over, maybe as some sort of breather? He could even pull out his old, dying controller for them, as a sort of swan song (am I using that correctly?). Since, you know, they really do use only one button.

Oh, and if you do, Iso, make sure you get the Sonic 3 and Knuckles ROM when you get to that game! It's separate from the Sonic 3 and Sonic and Knuckles ROMs, and is the only way to play the full game on a Genesis emulator!

I also want to see him beat Cybernator on camera. As I said, I had that game as a filly, but I never did get far in it (I could maybe get to Stage 3, if I was lucky). So I want to see how it ends, so I can close that chapter of my life. The chapter of "never seeing the later levels of Cybernator"...yeah...[totally not ripping off a line from the AVGN what are you talking about :twink: ?]

Yo, beating games you could never finish as a kid is a big deal. Neither me nor my three brothers could beat Silpheed: The Lost Planet. It just sat there as the "Unfinished game." Surprisingly it wasn't that hard, it was just that the game was our first console SHMUP we picked up, and SHMUPs are hard and at the same time you had to beat the whole game in one sitting, no save system. So we could get to like level 4 or so and then we'd die over and over.

over ten years passed and I played quite a few SHMUPS like R-type, Gradius and U.N Squadron. (No Touhou though.) And when I saw the game in its really weird holographic packaging I said to my brothers I'm finishing this game, we are going to see the end of it.

And so it was done, and was worth it, because I  Fought and defeated and entire evil parasite planet. And the CG for 2000 was awesome.

stories aside I'd like to see him finish Cybernator, even if he just cheeses half the game with the secret Napalm gun.
Personally I'm still waiting for Iso to defeat the Dark Demon. Oh and I think a true play through of Jelly-boy is in order, the world needs to understand the game that made Jolpe who is today.

Did he actually finish Hagane? I saw that he made it pretty far but I didn't catch all of the streams.

I also recommend Shinobi 3: Rise of the Ninja master for the Sega Genesis. It is like Ninja Gaiden but actually somewhat fair. You can also dive kick ninjas with a horse, so that has gotta count for something.

Swordcraft,Rayman, and other zelda hacks are all good ideas.

An interesting little snes game I found recently that might be worth Iso's time.

Ganpuru - Gunman's proof the english translation is pretty silly. It's a solid top down shooter, the aesthetics look shockingly similar to a link the past's but it very action oriented with not really any puzzles. I am enjoying it so far.

It's strange, I saw you playing it during today's Meatboy episode...Grimrock is a good game. I just don't really care much for it and it's not great LP material imo since 80% of the action is "check every wall for buttons." and the other 20% is the lower right corner of the screen.

I probably wouldn't watch the series but I'd think it might incur some pretty good reactions from Iso. So yeah.

If Iso is willing to play a more escort-y type platformer. Try Hamelin no Violin for the SNES. It's really goofy, and the main character Hamelin fights by playing a Cello at monsters. If the title wasn't a give-away well....SPOILERS! it's Anime.

Of course since we all want to see more Iso Mech action. Front Mission:Gun Hazard is also alot of fun. although it has a bunch of dialogue and RPG elements.

Hey Iso, an actually serious lp suggestion this time. Perdition. It's a pretty simple and short platformer. Its main focus is actually the story and specifically the choices you make along the way. If you went for all four endings I'd have to estimate an hour of playtime, maybe two. If not an lp then maybe give it a try on your own anyways.

I recommend Hyper Metroid. It's a Super Metroid Hack built off another hack called Project Base which provides some slight tweaks to the engine, like allowing you to switch to spin jump in midair. Iso could play Project Base itself, but on its own it's just Super Metroid with a few changes.

Huh, people were talking about that hack in stream chat. I'm pretty much always up for a Metroid hack, and it's been quite a while since the last one I played! I might not play it for a while though, since I have no idea how long Mishchief Makers is and I've got something planned after that, but I'll definitely keep it in mind.

I actually second the recommendation for Project Base. I started a game of that a week or two ago and it was actually pretty good. Despite being generally the same or very similar in level design it still feels like a very different beast.

Oh Project Base is fantastic, it's just that it's difficult to notice most of the differences between it and the original unless you're the one playing, so I wasn't sure if it would make a very good LP.

Might do developer's commentary for my levels in it or something, but otherwise nah, I already played it through 100% a few months ago. It would feel weird to LP it anyway since I followed it's development very closely and already knew everything about it for the most part.
